What makes palm oil wax a good choice for candles?

Palm wax is eco-friendly, clean-burning, and non-toxic.
It holds fragrance well, burns efficiently without soot or smoke, and creates a
beautifully patterned finish. It's also a harder wax, so your candle burns slowly
and evenly for longer-lasting enjoyment.

Each bag comes with natural cotton wicks (around 7cm long). To get the most out of them, cut each one in half. A half-length wick gives you 3–4 hours of burn time.

Our wicks are high-quality, lead- and zinc-free, and burn cleanly without mushrooming. Each wick can burn up to a 6cm diameter, so we recommend a vessel with a minimum 9cm diameter to ensure an even burn and to protect the container from heat.

Our Candle Sand is available in two bag sizes, plus a 2kg pail option:

300g ≈ 60 hours burn time

600g ≈ 120 hours burn time

2kg pail ≈ 400 hours burn time

Yes! Our wax is non-toxic and plant-based, making it safe for use around children and pets. It burns cleanly and doesn’t release harmful fumes.

If the wax is accidentally ingested, it’s unlikely to cause harm—but we still recommend seeking medical advice immediately, just to be cautious.

For added safety, if a lit vessel is knocked over, the flame should self-extinguish. The wick will also go out on its own once it burns down too low, provided it's used as directed.

Currently, our Candle Sand comes in its natural form, which ensures the best burn quality and appearance. We don’t recommend adding your own colorants, as this can affect how the candle burns and its overall safety.

That said, we’re always exploring new options and may offer more varieties in the future—so keep an eye out!

Our Candle Sand - 300g, 600g and 2kg sizes are unscented. We’ve chosen to supply it this way to ensure it’s suitable for everyone – especially those sensitive or allergic to fragrance.

That said, we offer a wide selection of fragrances available for purchase, should you wish to turn your candle into a beautifully scented experience. This allows you the freedom to customise each burn to suit your mood, preference, or space.

Our Sand Candle Jars (500g) are a little different – they come pre-scented with our carefully chosen fragrance range. They’re designed to give off a gentle, natural aroma that isn’t overpowering, but if you’d like a stronger scent, you can still add a few extra drops of fragrance at the base of the wick before lighting.

We don’t recommend adding essential oils to your Candle Sand. While essential oils smell wonderful, they often don’t blend well with candle wax and can affect how the candle burns. They may cause uneven burning, excessive smoke, or even pose a fire risk.

Our Candle Sand is specially formulated to hold and release fragrance safely and effectively using candle-grade fragrance oils designed for optimal performance. This ensures your candle burns cleanly, smells great, and lasts as long as possible.

If you want a stronger or custom scent, we recommend choosing from our range of pre-blended fragrance options rather than adding oils yourself.
